This brings us to ask what the hell those blob things were. They never surface again in the story. At all. Ever.The blobs were originally going to be the race that Bob was captured by, and whom he had to help in his travels on the Halo. But blobs are too blobby. They would be too hard to write about because that sort of thing doesn't translate well from thought into word; at least, not when you're pressed for time and you don't want to write thirty pages where seven would suffice.
